The Football Development Centre can provide you with the opportunity of getting top class coaching and playing opportunities alongside your education.

If you are applying to the Centre you must be at least 16 years of age, enrolled on a full time Sport & Leisure course at the college, and normally be playing at school or local club level. Selection will be based on individual assessment through a series of trials and academic ability.

Players joining the Football Development Centre train daily for two hours under the guidance of professional coaches. The Centre has 3 full size pitches available, 3 6-a-side pitches, changing and shower facilities, sports hall and gymnasium. The training will be timetabled to fit within your normal full-time Sport and Leisure course.

The Huntingdonshire Regional College Football Development Centre is run in partnership with Peterborough United FC. It is intended for male and female footballers between the ages of 16 and 21 from the UK and overseas. The Centre boasts top class facilities and excellent coaching.

The Centre offers the following benefits:
• Premiership standard coaching in partnership with Training Ground
• Up to 15 hours of top level coaching/training.
• Opportunity to play in top level college football – English Colleges Football League.
• Choice of sport related qualifications

As a player of the Football Development Centre you will experience life as a professional through full time training, competitive fixtures, visits to professional clubs, and guidance from qualified coaching staff from Training Ground and the college, course partners in the running of this course.

You will be representing the College Football Development Centre teams in regular competitive football games as part of the programme. Under Football Association rules and regulations, female participation in competitive mixed games is not permitted.

Progression Opportunities
If you successfully complete this programme you can expect to advance your playing ability significantly.
You will also have the opportunity to take your coaching qualifications at Level 1 and Level 2 and the possibility of obtaining a scholarship in the US.
